West Coast

With it being Spring and all, I never realized until now how hard it is for me to stay away from black and white clothing. Usually, Spring is an excuse for people to wear pastels and pretty floral prints. I've learned to accept my style and what I like instead of trying to be someone I'm not. It's better to wear what you love and what you're comfortable in, rather than forcing it.

With that said, I did find it in my comfort zone to wear pops of color. My hot pink shorts are from Forever 21, along with the leather vest, which has sweatshirt material mixed in it.

My nude heels, which are a must have that goes with anything, are from Aldo, one of my favorite shoe stores.

My other pop of color featured is my blue bag from Teen Vogue. It is actually a satchel, but you can turn any satchel into a clutch simply by tucking the strap inside the bag. My glasses are Prada inspired, I'm in love with the detail on the side of them. The inspiration for this title was Lana Del Rey's song, "West Coast". I've used her song titles for many of my looks before. I'm a big fan of hers, and hope to see her live in October.

Coachella On My Mind

After watching Coachella from the comfort of my own home, and yesterday being Earth day, you can say I was a bit inspired to be one of the many fashion bloggers to make a look in honor of these special events. Yes that is my dog Chanel, who decided to star in my look. Featured above is a kimono from Cotton On that I have been waiting two years to finally put together a look with, and the crop top is from Forever 21.

Of course, Jeffrey Campbell Litas go with everything and should be a staple in every girl's wardrobe. Also, every Coachella style outfit consists of a nice hat and some sunglasses. It's almost a hippie style, with an urban edge to it.

To end this post I should probably leave off on some note talking about the Earth. Always throw away your trash, don't liter, recycle all your plastics, and celebrate this Spring by giving your yard or garden a face-lift.

Coco Made Me Do It

If you ever have a meeting and are unsure of what to wear, black and white will never fail you. Black is slimming and can enhance your figure, while the white accents add the touch of Chanel. I chose the simple route with a black and white blazer from Express, a black vest from H&M, and some thrifted black slacks that I tailored to fit skinny.

Pearls are a statement by them self that exude class and elegance. With a pair of black sunglasses, you can pull off the Audrey Hepburn look.

Grease Lightning

Happy Easter everybody! What better way to celebrate than to do a shoot? I wanted this to be a very contrasting, bold look. I love the idea of having a loud background with a simple, street style outfit. The 1950's greaser look seemed to be what I was going for. To cheese it up, I used the title "Grease Lightning" from the all time classic musical, "Grease". Now that the song is going to be stuck in my head for the next 100 years let's move on to the pieces featured.

My t-shirt with the black and white print is from Topshop. No, I have absolutely no idea who the people on it are. If someone could tell me that would be great.

The boyfriend jeans are thrifted Levi's, slightly ripped thanks to me. Also thrifted is the leather jacket, cat eye glasses, and believe it or not, the Louis Vuitton bag, which I picked up for $3.00.

Lastly, the metallic booties are from Aldo, one of the most beautiful shoe stores around.

Come Sail Away With Me

Thank God it's Spring! The weather has been beautiful these past few days. Especially at my local marina, it was "photoshoot weather". This one was very anticipated. My inner Pin-up girl was trying to show through and it was a blast. My top, shorts, and sunglasses are from Forever 21.

My inspiration was definitely drawn from my love for Guess ads, specifically the 2012 campaign.

April Fashionista's Event: Featuring Binzario Couture

This post is definitely not going to be about me. Last night I had the honor of being able to watch my good friend Andre Yabin and his partner Luis Nazario show their amazing 'couture to the max' gowns to us Fashionista's. Binzario Couture is going to be the first on my list of who to design my wedding dress.

But yes, I was going to feature my outfit on lookbook so why not add it. This is actually a romper from Love Culture that looks more like a dress.

You would think you were getting glimpses of what's to be shown in Fashion Week. Andre and Luis are very talented designers, and I strive to be like them one day soon. I also had a chance to photograph the dresses myself. The link to Binzario is: http://www.binzario.com/ Enjoy!

Hopped Off The Plane At L.A.X.

Spring in Dallas means discovering the latest trends on the runway. I had the opportunity to attend a show at the Frontiers of Flight Museum, featuring local designers collections. I arrived wearing all black attire. Shown above is a black jumpsuit by Virgo. The rest of the look is thrifted. Thrifting is one of my favorite things to do, and seems to be a very popular thing these days that people try to take credit for. You wouldn't believe the things you could find, from high dollar labels, to old and vintage clothing.

Photography isn't a career that I will be pursuing anytime soon, but it too is one of my favorite things to do. I love to attend shows and photograph the models as the come down the runway. Here are a couple shots from the show!
